Learning Spanish Like Crazy
There are so many sites advertising, "Learning Spanish Like Crazy". Well, I really do not think that it is really possible, at least not for most people. It doesn't matter if you are using the end-all most incredible, guchi, wonderful, best Spanish learning program ever invented, if it is not a good match for you, well, game over. Let's try and see though what is possible.
It all comes down to how well you set your goals, and how hard you work to reach them. If all you are looking to is to learn how to ask for some basic stuff while on vacation in Cancun, then it is possible to learn this in a few weeks or less, depending on how well you can memorize Spanish phrases. The key to fast language acquisition is to use what you are learning as much as possible. To learn Spanish fast requires a lot of work. One important mistake to be aware of is putting too much dependence on the particular Spanish program you are using. Although most of these programs out on the market are good, they can't practice or learn for you. You must do all of the work, and that means putting into practice all that you learn.
One way to do this is to try and find a native Spanish speaker, or someone who is much more advanced than you are who you can speak with. This is truly the only way to develop fluency. Some people accomplish this by volunteering at a local church or other center devoted to helping non-English speaking people learn English. If you have an Hispanic grocery store in your neighborhood, try practicing your Spanish.
Total immersion is what is needed and that includes watching movies and listening to music in Spanish. This can be a great help and really will develop you language skills much quicker than just working with a Spanish program. Use all of the tools you have available to you and don't think that something may be too trivial. Use your imagination.
So maybe it is possible to learn Spanish fast. Just don't trust completely what all of the sales pages on those programs tell you about how fast you will learn. Everybody is different and requires their own "personalized" program. Personalize yours and you will see quick results.
